Nachi Falls is in the Yoshino-Kumano National Park, as one of the most beautiful & famous waterfalls in Japan. Its height is about 133m (436ft). This waterfall enjoyed sacred status in ancient Japan. Nearby the fall, situated the Nachi Taisha Shrine, one of the three Kumano Grand Shrines, which is dedicated to the kami (spirit) of the waters. Most of the Japanese are animist, they come here not only to enjoy the magnificent view, but also for worshipping purposes.
