I think a New year's resolution is nothing more than a goal that can be set at anytime. And the key is embracing for the change and try to achieve your goals.

Dear Anne, thanks for your comment. Since 'new year' marks the beginning of the year, it makes perfect sense. =) No problem 'when' it starts, since we make adjustments all the time. As long it suits you, 3rd month sounds perfect to me too.

Now why didn't I think of that? I can live with just 1 resolution, I guess. ha.. Thanks Kasmoie for dropping by. Good day!

I don't do resolutions, but I do find the first of the year a good starting day for things. I guess it is an internal perception thing. I try to start something, but if I fail at it, I just pick another starting point and begin again. Because of the weird timing, I actually started my fitness goal on the 3rd.

After years of Resolutions-making, I relate totally what Cindy said. ha.. yeah, a diamond as a reward, maybe?

Wish you best in achieving your goals as well.

p/s: Hectic day at work today. I really miss my holidays. I shall put 'More Travelling' in my ultimate Goal-List..ha..

I read from Jan'09 Our Daily Bread - "It's not suprising that we want to change things in our lives that we're unhappy about-even though most New Year's resolutions are kept for no more than 3 weeks". I am 100% agree with the author, Cindy Hess Kasper. If anyone can keep the resolutions for 6 months, they're doing great. For those who manage to keep the resolutions for the whole year, they're extremely doing well! Should pamper themselves with an expensive gift :p

Anyway, personally, i prefer specific goals with proper planning and with proper review every 3 months. Wish everyone the best of luck for 2009!

I agree. I'm more of a 'goal' person either. By doing a periodic check and make adjustment; modify according to the changes around us may suit us better. Don't you think?

Happy New Year, Ryan, and hope you could reach your goal(s) soon. =)

I'm not so sure about 'resolutions'; this year I've stated my goals instead. I think there is a subtle difference. I know what I want to achieve, but I might not be going about it the right way right now. Having a goal seems more flexible.

My goal is to lose weight so there are several ways of doing that.
