I really liked the film but the book is excellent too. It’s obviously very contrived, and a lot of it doesn’t really make sense, but it’s still very enjoyable and the message is a good one too.

I’m an avid cinema-goer but I’m still procrastinating whether I should watch Slumdog or not. :S

Yeah, I was thinking the same way too Lilymom. It’s not that ‘hard’ to watch at all, but some part of the film does make you ‘think’ and wonder about the unfortunate events that’s repeating not only at the mentioned state, but other places as well.

As Julia said, it’s obvious enough. So 8 is the magic number. At least somehow it changes the life of the kids who starred in it — A very small population out of many, many of them.

I never expected it to be a love story at first.. really.

I haven’t watched the movie but Slumdog was never the underdog. Everyone expected it to win. It question was how many awards.

I have not watched it either because I thought it sounded like it might be too disturbing. However, now that I’ve read the spoiler(I know thats not the way I’m supposed to do it..lol), it sounds like a movie that I would really like to view.

Indeed. I love the idea of how the story was told based on the questions asked; it is unique,and educational at the same time. ^^ The story took us deeper within, not only just the ‘love’ part.

I always love happy ending I have not seen the movie, but I will look for it. It sound like a great movie.
