Hi Miguel,
You've brought up a very good question. This has always been a challenge for me, with new applications emerging and all.

For me,it's the continuous research & trials that got me convinced on the effectiveness of one service. Always on the lookout for the updates, and users' reviews on the gadget. Usually that'll take days, even weeks..

Nonetheless, my opinion is that all social media requires a massive amount of involvement, and the results differ from one user to another. We just have to trust our judgement that this application could work better for us in the long run, so our focus will be how to maximize its use and have proper time management. We can't have them all,but certainly can work on the potential ones and plan our strategy. Third party services like EventBox or Ping.fm could help us to some extent, but then reliability is another issue until we're truly convinced.

I can say it's a never ending story for all social media junkie like us. At least integration is starting to happen now, hopefully it'll make our lives alot easier, not the opposite. But, we'll see.

P/S: Heard some compliments about EventBox, sadly unable to try it since not using Mac. If you ever get to use it, I'd love to know how it turns out. Thanks in advance. ^^

It’s an innovation of social networking. Every gadget seems trying to be more powerful, and cater for all their users’ needs. Sometimes, I do miss the simplicity of just 1 gadget for one-use. But it does help FB in my case, since I seldom log in before this. =P
