How to Brand Your Tweets with TweetBrand

You know how social media strategists love to talk about branding right? Well, over the months we have discussed about ways to brand ourselves on Twitter with customized Twitter background and bio descriptions. Now MarketMeTweet offers a new alternative to maximize our exposures through tweet-branding. Meet TweetBrand — a handy and effective tool… oh! Did I mention it’s FREE too?
How Does TweetBrand Work?
Let me make this easy for you, noticed the squared area that’s usually filled by Twitter application names like Tweetdeck, Web or API?
Well, not anymore. With TweetBrand you can now place whatever terms you like: organization or company name, your blog name, your niche subjects… anything that will help to attract like-minded audiences. You can predetermine the landing page of the backlink as well ! Here I place ‘Social @ Blogging Tracker’ as my brand name and a mouse click at it will direct people to my blog. Imagine the benefits I will gain from this tiny modification:
- The ability to brand my tweets with a descriptive name. In this case, Social Media & Blogging related subjects are my priorities.
- Increasing exposure with higher chance to meet with like minded individuals or potential clients.
- Clear niche-identification without being intrusive. Followers can click the backlink at will without me DM them to do so.
- Retrieve the backlink and attention you deserved on Twitter.
I was testing out this application two days ago and immediately it was recognized by my Twitter friends. They are wondering how my blog name can appear on all my Twitter status?

Therefore, do not underestimate a minor change for it may do wonders to your business. Your company or organization name can be spotted instantly on various Twitter platforms, let it be web apps or desktop clients. It’s a chance to stand out from your competitors and be ahead of the game.
How To Configure TweetBrand to Brand Your Tweets
Basically, you need to register a new application to retrieve consumer key codes which later be used to activate the tweetbrand installer (adobe air application). The configuration may be a little tricky but if you follow the instructions carefully, you’ll be tweeting from TweetBrand in no time:
1. First you need to sign up here in order to get the free download file. Upon receiving the email, click the link as instructed.
2. You will be asked to sign in to Twitter in order to get your consumer key and secret code.
3. Register a new application while in your Twitter page. Fill up the required details and save it.
4. Once the application is ready, you will be given consumer key & consumer secret code which will be needed during installation (Step no.6).
5. Now you are ready to download TweetBrand. Follow the instructions and proceed until the app is successfully installed to your PC.
6. Login with your TweetBrand registration details. Paste in the consumer key & secret code (from step.4) before integrating your Twitter account(s).
7. Sign in to Twitter and grant access for the application you created. A Twitter Pin number will be displayed. Copy & paste it to the box and hit ‘Apply’ to finalize the process.
8. Now, you can start tweeting with TweetBrand!
Here are several features you should know:
- Paste the long URL in the tweet box and click ‘Tiny URL’ to shorten it (Of course, you are free to use other shortener services as you pleased).
- Tick ‘Replies’ will reveal the conversations directed to your username.
- Tick ‘Friends’ will display the real-time tweets from the people you followed.
Have fun trying out the application and start branding your tweets today! If you’re hoping for more advanced features, you’ll be interested to know about 7 Features to Brand, Market, Manage with MarketMe Tweet.

Ching Ya!! That sounds like a perfect, perfect thing for me!! Well, obviously for a lot of people. I would download it now except I am on my cellphone typing. The house Internet Is down. We have had some wild winds– yesterday our power was off from 3:00 to 7:30 pm, talk about a funny Christmas Eve for a while!
I like how you mention this Tweetbrand shows a blog link, could for sure bring in more blog traffic. And sounds simple too, a great first step for me to expand my Twitter experience.

Wow cool application

But i am already using twitter user name as my blog name so its sufficient for my blog , but also i can also use some specific keywords which are related to my blog
Q :Tweetdeck can collaborate with Tweetbrand and give this option in it’s application only

What do you think ???
.-= Sunil Jain´s last blog ..5 Things to know before creating a blog =-.
Actually this is not related to tweetdeck BUT we’re developing an app which will be released in late january that will be the ultimate twitter tool and will allow branding as well! stay tuned!
.-= Tammy from TweetBrand´s last blog ..Happy Holidays from the Team! =-.
Oh that’s great Tammy

But the application which you are coming up is free or paid one??
[As i had read on your blog , Tweemeback is a paid application
]
.-= Sunil Jain´s last blog ..5 Things to know before creating a blog =-.
Well, yes i do concede we are trying to make a living. But we’re talking nominal money. Really. For a single account it’s $15/month. And it does much more than management – branding, @reply following, keyword following and more. We hope it will become a no brainer for people who want to get the most from their twitter account. But open to feedback too! Let me know what you think!
.-= Tammy from TweetBrand´s last blog ..Happy Holidays from the Team! =-.
This application is good to hear , i liked it features which you have told . This can be a tough competition to all other desktop clients like Tweetdeck,Seemic,Twhirl and many more.
My Idea : I think you can give this application to all bloggers and marketers for a week try to get a valuable feedback and i am also interested to try this application
.
If you liked the idea of then its good or else you can stick on to your marketing plan

Hi Guys, yeah it doesn’t have to be your blog name, it can be a call to action, our tweet brand account has ours as ‘TweetBrand, Brand Your Tweets!’ which works well, as well as you an includes exclamation marks, etc, multiple words, it can be anything you like.
Glad you like it!

wchingya,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I’m glad you enjoyed that Dale Chihuly video with the cool music.
As far as the Tweet-branding is concerned, I can see where that might drive traffic and generate interest in a site.
As you may know, I was the victim of identity theft and someone posed as me on Twitter. To make a long story short, I badgered Twitter for 27 days and they finally closed down the impostor account that was using my face, my blog link, and my screen name (one letter off). It was quite an ordeal.
Once I finally got Twitter to close the impostor account, I cleaned out my own account (manually deleting thousands of tweets first). More details on this saga are on my blog and are yet to come there. I still haven’t had the time/energy to do the story justice but part of the story is there.
The point is that I took the time to clean my account out before deleting it for a reason. I had been on Twitter since 2008 and was sorry to leave it in many ways but, in the end, it was the only logical choice for me.
I’m glad that Twitter is working well for you and that you are finding ways for it to work even better for you.

I still am not a twitter fan particularly and despite all these tools I haven’t found it to be particularly useful or valuable in any particular way. I am willing to be proven wrong.
On the other hand, this tool seems logical and effective branding is always a good thing. Thanks for point it out to a total twitter noob.

Ching Ya,
I finally updated my story yesterday regarding the Twitter impostor incident and Internet security in general. Since you obviously have many Twitter users that read your blog, I just thought I would mention that I have written several posts regarding identity theft, Twitter impostors, and Internet security.
I don’t mean to be a “downer” in any way and I’m glad that Twitter is still working well for you. When it worked well for me, I loved it. Unfortunately, I got to see the dark side of Twitter. The good news in that is that I can share my story with others to, hopefully, prevent some people from going through what I went through or at least have a better understanding of the importance of Internet safety… on any site.
Happy New Year!

Hi Ching Ya – thanks for the info – very useful!
All the best from Robin
Thank you Robin,
It’s so great to see you here! Hope you have a great start in 2010 so far. Looking forward to seeing you again.
I have tried this once via John Sullivan’s post about it, unfortunately my high expectations as a software or app reviewer wasn’t completely satisfied. The delays in tweet status made me give it up.
The interface is just okay however installing an Air-based app without seeing much user menu other than sending off tweets isn’t that appealing unless in the future they could come up with something similar to TweetDeck.
Those are just my observations. I didn’t write a post about this app thinking that it still needs a lot of space to grow which I’m sure would happen in no time.

Delays in tweet status? that’s the first i’ve heard about this. I think it must have been a twitter issue b/c it seems to be working great now

Ching Ya,
Another great tutorial, but the comments are even better! My takeaways: I’ll wait for the upcoming new “reveal” in 2010, and hopefully it will be web-based. I do wonder if there is any way that people will be “over-branded,” but my gut says no. I especially like what Alan pointed out that the signature doesn’t have to be your brand, but a call to action. Now that’s real sales or nonprofit mission call-out potential!
@askdebra

Debra,
That’s very true indeed, I love how you emphasize on ‘call to action’. I’m actually quite excited about how social media apps will evolve in this new year.
Readers are all very helpful to voice out opinions and I learned so much about needs in social networking from the comments! I am now even more eager to dig up info to match their requests. Nothing is more exciting to get new ideas from outspoken & useful feedbacks.
May the power of social media continue to grow and benefits all, especially non-profits.
The more ways to help out the organizations the better!
TweetBrand is a cool tool. But the downside is installing the client.
Nevertheless, it’s a good alternative to tweet using your URL.

Sire,
That will be a dream come true!
I wonder how long we’ll have to wait though. I guess the more attention TweetBrand gets will surely alert Tweetdeck and others to integrate that as well. Let’s hope so.
Lars,
I’m working the exact same way but using Tweetdeck. lol.. yeah, I’m starting to get used to the routines: RT, edit or copy, paste; then Tweetbrand.
Thanks guys for visiting, it’s wonderful to have you two here as well.
You too copy/paste? In my case, it´s actually one extra step: I use HootSuite for tweeting but bit.ly for URL-shortening. Since HootSuite has not integrated bit.ly (only their own ow.ly which I don´t like), I shorten all my URLs with Bit.ly. So when I tweet now, I use 3 apps: HootSuite, Bit.ly, TweetBrand…
Guess who would cheer like crazy if I could find the same functionality in one single app?
.-= Lars Tong Strömberg´s last blog ..Yes, Twitter advertising using TweetBrand works! =-.
Hi Ching
I have to be honest I am really behind on Twitter. I don’t have a background page not much of a bio or anything. I basically use it to tweet my posts. This is interesting though. I should probably take some time to personalize my twitter page. With Tweetbrand being free thats cool. Free is good and it sounds like a good tool. I’ll have to check it out.

Tammy, I will definitely check it out once you release it!
If I were you, I would for a more full-fledged app look for i) the user interface and easy of use of HootSuite including scheduling tweets, ii) URL-shortening integration with not only tinyurl, but bit.ly + a few others as well, iii) and of course the great functionality you already have developed with TweetBrand.
Of course, that is quite a wishlist and I guess there are neat functionality to look for in Seesmic and TweetDeck too, but above would be my “dream twitter app” at the moment.
