Hi Vickie, indeed this is a past year post. I’m thinking of writing an updated one, maybe after the launch of Timeline. There have been rapid changes over at Facebook and lots we need to adapt to. But no doubt, we’ll always have things to learn whenever there’s an upgrade from Facebook. Do stay tune and hopefully I get to see you in the latest post.

The facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/help/?page=174 “If I already have a user profile, can I create a business account?” states that maintaining multiple accounts is a violation of the TOU. I don’t know how forceful they are with enforcement.

To avoid violation, I created a facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/This1That1Whatevercom/156625884379306 for my website http://this1that1whatever.com/. I wanted a separate facebook page (about my website) versus my facebook account (personal interactions). I have been joining Facebook groups where my facebook account was used as my presence to spread the word on my website.

Now that I have my facebook page, I don’t know how to leverage it when I join facebook groups. My facebook account is used to join the facebook groups, so how can I utilize my facebook page for visibility in facebook groups that I join?

Seems I’m driven into a corner. I wanted to separate my personal facebook account from my website activities. I could not create another account (call it business or whatever) due to the facebook TOU. I created the facebook page to avoid violation. Now I can’t figure out how to leverage the facebook page.

Your tips on promoting my facebook page are excellent points. Thanks.

After scouring the internet for excellent facebook social media techniques, this is by far the best article I have found.

I have implemented a few of the suggestions for our Sparkwood and 21 facebook fan page and we’ll see how they work.

I have set up a profile and fan page for my job. Is the only way to share posts between the 2 to copy and paste? Also, on the fan page, why don’t my posts share to my favorite pages? I thought that was the point, to cross market with our favorite pages. But no posts are coming from their fan page wall to my fan page and vice verse.

I’ve been so busy with Twitter lately that I’ve neglected by fan page. I’m going to look into the badges tonight. Thanks for the idea.

I am so far behind. I just set up a fan page for our site last week.
I’ve had a heck of a time figuring out what to do once I had the basics so, this will help a whole bunch.

I don’t have people on my personal facebook account unless I know them in Real life but, wanted a way to keep in touch with people that visit our site or like to send me links to stories they think we may be interested in so the fan page is a huge plus.

Thank you for the extra tips so, I can try to fix things I missed (or never even thought of).
